The Women of The Entrepreneur’s Source®

At The Entrepreneur’s Source® (TES), we’re proud of the impact our Career Ownership Coaches® make each and every day. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’d like to highlight some of the amazing female coaches we have that are changing their clients’ lives, one franchise placement at a time.

Heidi Simos

Heidi’s career path took her through a variety of industries before she came to TES, including in the franchising  industry, where she was a franchisee for several learning centers, and a role as campus president at a career college. Her last job before she transitioned to the career coaching industry had her in constant fear of losing her job, and when she was laid off, she re-evaluated what made her happiest and landed on franchising.

“In the franchising world, everyone wants you to succeed,” says Heidi. “They’re there to help you.” Heidi linked up with TES Career Ownership Coach® Susan Mell, who helped Heidi take ownership of her own career, and the rest is history. Since she started with TES, Heidi has helped so many people find the franchise opportunities that are right for them – including a dozen or so veterans transitioning out of the military who are particularly near and dear to her heart.

“It’s an amazing experience to educate people about what’s out there,” Heidi adds. “The greatest satisfaction is changing people’s lives and making an impact.”

Susan Mell

Susan Mell has been an entrepreneur since she was 28 years old. Now, Susan is going on her 20th year as a Career Ownership Coach® with TES. Some of Susan’s favorite aspects of being a coach with TES is that she’s been able to reach some of her own goals, like increased flexibility and the ability to travel frequently, including a trip to South Africa for a safari that she took at the beginning of 2020. And when it comes to coaching clients, Susan couldn’t be happier.

“I love it. I’m enjoying it more and more. It’s always interesting,” shares Susan. She enjoys helping people make an impact on their own communities, and finds helping people explore a higher sense of purpose in their careers fulfilling in a way she never imagined. “They want to make a difference for their community, their family. That’s the challenge for many people, having a business that fulfills them personally and professionally — I never thought I’d find that.” 20 years later, Susan is still going strong as a Career Ownership Coach®, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on our TES team.

Susan Scotts

Susan Scotts had an extensive career in franchising and media before she became a coach with TES 13 years ago.

“I was working for someone in a 9-5… and then I realized I was on the wrong side of things. Susan says. “I worked up the courage to do it for myself. And I love what I do.” Personally, Susan enjoys the flexibility that comes with being a Career Ownership Coach®.  When she started her business, she spent some time working on her sailboat down in South Florida. “I’m stationary now, but the business has a flexible lifestyle that allows me to do what I want when I want,” Susan adds. Professionally, Susan loves that she has so many opportunities to change people’s lives for the better. “I love helping people and feel like I’m doing good in the world,” says Susan. “My favorite one is a note that sits here on my desk that says, ‘Thank you for changing my life. You’re changing the world on person at a time.’”
