The Home-Based Business Model of TES: Making Dreams Become a Reality

Wanting More

Climbing the corporate ladder has left many people feeling weary and disillusioned. They want more for their lives than what the confines of Corporate America can offer. More and more people are turning to business ownership to help them achieve their Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity goals.

Both Brandon Breath and Wendy Dalpez, wanted greater things for their lives and decided to take control of their destinies. While their paths are very different, they both found what they were looking for in The Entrepreneur’s Source® (TES) as Career Ownership Coaches™. TES was recently recognized as one of the top home-based and mobile franchises in 2022 on Entrepreneur.com.

For Brandon and his wife Michelle it began as a dream years ago. “We were on our first trip to Italy, and we just fell in love with the country and the culture. We dreamed of being able to live and work in Europe. We looked into different options as to how to make that possible and it was overwhelming, it didn’t seem possible at first,” explains Brandon.

After 25 years in the newspaper industry, Wendy was burnt-out. “70-hour work weeks were taking their toll. The pressure and stress were high. The industry was struggling. I realized I couldn’t keep doing this, I started to ask myself what was next,” adding, “There was no work-life balance. I wanted more time with my kids. My husband and I wanted to travel in our RV, I didn’t want to be tied to just one spot.”

A Pathway to their Dreams

As Brandon and Wendy began to dream of more for their lives, both began to see business ownership as a viable option to turn their dreams into reality. Finding what they were looking for in the home-based virtual business model of The Entrepreneur’s Source®, both became Career Ownership Coaches™.

Brandon says, “The idea of having a business that would allow us to spend big chunks of time outside of the U.S. was very appealing. The 100% virtual nature of the business would allow me to choose where I work. I also believed I would really enjoy the work; talking to and coaching clients, helping them find new possibilities for themselves.”

As TES coaches, this idea of working from anywhere was put to the test by Brandon and Wendy in recent years. Brandon explains, “During the last part of 2021, I spent a few weeks visiting family and friends. We were evacuated for two weeks during and after Hurricane Ida. We also spent six weeks in Verona, Italy and five more weeks out of our residence while post hurricane repairs were made to our home. Throughout it all, I was able to continue working with zero interruptions to my business.”

Wendy also appreciated being able to work from anywhere. “During the pandemic lockdowns we were able to stay with my mom in Nevada as well as check in on family in Colorado, all while I continued to work with my clients,” says Wendy, “When we aren’t traveling in our RV, we live in rural Washington, so having a business that is virtual allows me to grow my business in a way that isn’t tied to my geography.”

In addition to being able to work virtually, Wendy enjoys being able to have control of her schedule, deciding not only where she works, but when she works. Just recently, Wendy hosted what she calls “Camp Grandma, spending the week with her seven-year-old grandson on his spring break. “I was able to schedule my calls for the morning and then have the afternoon free to take him to do something fun. We had a great time, even going to the museum and the park that week. This was never possible for me before.”

The Day to Day

With greater flexibility to create the lifestyle they want, the coaches have control over their day-to-day lives in ways they never did before.

Explaining his typical day, Brandon says, “My typical day starts a 9 am. I spend most of my time talking to clients in various stages of discovery. I spend three to five hours a week on peer group calls, personal coaching for myself or with other coaches, and continuing education about our system and our partners. Time is also spent completing admin work and communication with our partners as they work to educate my clients. I do schedule time for lunch each day and other personal activities as needed. I rarely work past 5:30pm and almost never work on weekends.”

When asked about her typical day, Wendy says, “Today for example, I am spending my morning taking some photos for the local rotary club I am the president of. Then I have some calls with clients scheduled this afternoon and then this evening we are having friends over to watch our local hockey team play. I love being able to set my own schedule.”

TES Technology Makes it Possible

“TES has an internal portal that does most of the heavy lifting as a customer relationship management software,” says Brandon. Wendy agrees, saying, “The great thing about this business is that you really only need a phone and wifi. The system keeps track of everything, from notes, steps taken with clients, all the emails, everything. It is easy to pick up right where you left off, from anywhere.”

Wendy goes on to say, “Over my years with this company, I have seen the resources TES has put into the technology and have benefited from its evolution. They have listened closely to their coaches for ways to improve and simplify the system. It’s truly an asset.”

The Client Experience

“The best way I can describe the client experience is to say we create a safe space. There is zero pressure on our clients. My first call with a client is designed to build rapport and understand a little about their current situation,” explains Brandon.

Wendy adds, “It’s important to get to know them and understand their ‘Why’. I find out what their income, lifestyle, wealth, and equity goals are. We also utilize personality profile assessments to learn our client’s communication style to better service them. Above all, I ask my clients to keep an open mind throughout the experience.”

Brandon agrees, “Once we have established a good understanding of where they have been and where they want to go conceptually, I turn the conversation to different pathways to self-sufficiency. We have discussions and work through exercises to help my clients understand what options for their skillsets are out there and how can be used in ways they likely have never considered.”

Finding Fulfillment and Enjoyment in Life

Aside from the freedom and flexibility the virtual home-based business model provides, Wendy will tell you she has gained much more from TES. “This job fits my personality, and the opportunities to learn new things and talk to new people is unlimited. I love helping people and this is the perfect industry to do that. I enjoy working with goal oriented, positive and supportive people, all while being able to contribute to my family’s finances and future retirement in significant ways.”

Brandon also feels fulfilled in his choice, saying, “Knowing I am adding value in other people’s lives and even possibly changing their future for the better is extremely satisfying for me. “
